About me
I hated all forms of exercise when I was a child/teenager, I always skipped P.E and dreaded walking anywhere. I started to exercise when I was at university with the sole purpose of losing weight. I then developed an obsession with exercising at least 6 times a week. It became a punishment if I had eaten too much or if I needed to look good for a certain event.
I lived a very sedentary lifestyle outside of the gym and constantly suffered with chronic back and hip pain and terrible posture. I thought it was normal to be in pain everyday.
I began practising Yoga & Meditation during my early 20’s when I was bouncing from corporate job to corporate job struggling to find one I enjoyed. I enjoyed these practises and began to spend my spare time reading about and practising them.
I wanted a career in fitness but kept talking myself out of it. I finally quit circuling the corporate world and started as Front of House in Private Member’s Gym whilst I studied my Yoga Course and Personal Training Qualification.
I started teaching and finding clients as soon as I qualified. I started to notice that many of my clients suffered pain, tightness and improper use of certain joints and body parts.
I began to study Mobility (this is the active range of motion around a joint) and I became fascinated by the body moving optimally and feeling good during everyday tasks.
I practised a Mobility Assessment on myself and I created a Strength, Mobility & Breath-work programme. My back and hip pain completely disappeared and I felt stronger, balanced and in control of my body.
My hobby of choice is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and working on my strength & mobility had a huge impact on my performance on the mats. I also practise Calisthenics as this encourages synergy between the whole body.
I now have a healthy relationship to exercise and my body and I am so grateful that I get to share my journey and the power of these tools with others.
I know how challenging it is to start an exercise programme and I know how it feels to deal with everyday aches and pains.
I want to help you find the exercise plan that you actually enjoy whilst ensuring that your body is moving as optimal as possible.
I use knowledge from all my trainings and I always emphasis the power of breathing correctly.
You don’t have to hate exercise and you can feel good everyday!
Please send me a message if you would like to work with me.
